Blagrove Underwriting Agency Ltd (BUA) is an underwriting agency based in the London Insurance Market and with offices in Manchester, Belfast and Burford (Oxfordshire). Our principal area of trading is the UK Commercial Motor Market. We underwrite across a broad spectrum of fleet risks from Haulage to SME mini fleet. Our approach is to look at each risk on its merits and to offer the best possible price with the best possible claims service. Our distinguishing feature will be our service and our willingness to be flexible when required. As a small insurer, we can offer these rare qualities to our brokers and clients - but because we are supported by financially strong companies, we can compete with the larger insurers without fear.

We are delighted to announce that with effect from 1^st October 2025, our underwriting capacity will be provided by SCOR UK Co Ltd. SCOR carry a financial rating of A+ from Standard & Poor and Fitch with an A rating from A.M. Best. They are one of the leading insurance and reinsurance companies in the World and we are delighted to be supported by them. The Agreement is a multi-year agreement and will provide Blagrove with a solid platform on which we will build the next phase of our development.

The UK fleet market is changing. Underwriters are being replaced with rating engines - underwriting is being automated. Whilst this is a good development for the efficiency and cost saving of insurers, it takes away the flexibility often required in this most difficult class of UK commercial insurance. We believe in technology and efficiency, but we also believe that brokers and their clients need more than a price - they need a service and a product to suit their needs precisely.

We operate our own claims service so brokers and clients have only one point of contact - and you will be in the hands of a very experienced and knowledgeable team from the outset of the claim.
